The quaint and original villages of the Alpujarra, with their cristalclear streams, their waterholes, suitable for bathing and even swimming and their nearly all year round snowcovered mountains of over 3000m always want to be explored and best by foot.

Pampaneira, Bubion and Capileira are the main villages and deserve at least one day of your stay. In any of these old Moorish villages you can start short strolls or beautifully long hikes.
Trevelez with 1480m above sealevel is the highest lived in village in Spain and is famous for its airdried ham.
